  • Reporting to: Starlite Aviation Group CEO
  • Location: Durban

Starlite Aviation Operations (Pty) Ltd is seeking a resilient, strong, and organized professional to fill the position of AOC Accountable Manager in Durban within the Starlite Group. The Accountable Manager will be responsible for overseeing operational activities and performance for all International and Domestic Air Service License operations, including Part 127 Helicopter, Part 135 Fixed Wing, and Part 101 Remote Pilot Aircraft Systems. The role involves developing strategies, objectives, and goals for the business, ensuring compliance with regulatory and safety requirements, managing financial budgets, and fostering a positive quality and safety culture.

Key Performance Areas:

  • Support the development of business strategy
  • Establish resources, systems, and controls to achieve objectives
  • Motivate and lead teams towards business objectives
  • Drive the implementation of quality and safety culture

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure activities are financed and carried out in compliance with requirements
  • Build and lead a strong team to enforce quality and safety culture
  • Develop systems and controls for effective functioning
  • Ensure compliance with SACAA regulations
  • Liaise with customers, contractors, and regulatory agencies
  • Provide input into Tender pricing and budgets
  • Plan, operate, and execute operations within Tender budgets
  • Build strong supplier relationships
  • Provide insight into fleet additions, sales, and planning
  • Maintain effective relationships with Commercial and Maintenance Departments
  • Travel to Operational Bases (Local and International)

Critical Requirements:

  • Deep knowledge of technical and operational management in Helicopter, Fixed Wing, and RPAS operations
  • Understanding of applicable regulations
  • Strong discipline in upholding performance standards
  • Good Customer Service, Interpersonal, Administration, and Communication skills
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite

Languages:

  • High level of English proficiency
  • French (highly advantageous)

Qualifications and Position Requirements:

  • Pilot License (minimum CPL)
  • Business Management Diploma/Degree
  • Safety and Quality Assurance Certification
  • Minimum of eight years in a senior management role
  • Minimum of eight years of senior management experience within civil aviation
