CSV is currently seeking to add an experienced Civils Construction Manager to its team of professionals.
Construction Manager - Civils [18 Month Contract] - Bayside Canal, Tableview
Job Summary: The Civils Construction Manager oversees, coordinates, and leads construction projects from start to finish, ensuring that projects are completed on time, to the required quality standards and within allocated budgets.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Provides leadership from project inception to project completion
- Liaises with all project stakeholders, internal and external client representatives
- Responsible for devising, communicating, and following Project Programmes and amendments and updates as required
- Overall responsibility for ensuring all resources are timeously ordered and available for use
- Being site based to plan, coordinate, supervise and direct all site activities for the construction of civil engineering structures and pipelines.
- Ensures safety standards and guidelines are followed on the Site
- In liaison with the Contracts Manager and Quantity Surveyor, oversee contract administration and cost certification and assist with claim procedures.
- Collaborates with clients, clients’ representatives, assistant construction managers, construction foremen, subcontractors, and design professionals to discuss and resolve problems, including work procedures and construction or design issues
- Site cost management, sub-contractors’ appointments, payments and monthly claims
- Manages and leads actions that are necessary due to delays, bad weather, or emergencies at construction sites.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; Ms Projects and CCS experience (advantageous)
- Thorough understanding of contracts, plans, specifications, and regulations.
- Ability to remain flexible and efficient in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to make intelligent and quick decisions, working well under pressure, and when faced with unexpected occurrences or delays.
Education and Experience:
- At least 8 years’ experience as a Construction Manager on Civil Engineering Projects (advantageous)
- Registration as PrEng / PrConstruction Manager (advantageous)
- Foundation and marine experience (advantageous)
