We are looking for a passionate photographic assistant intern to work alongside our senior photographer. In this role, you will help to plan, setup, streamline and execute photoshoots at various locations. You will also be required to interact with stylists, models and Art Directors; assist with lighting setup, checking gear for every shoot and the distribution of completed photo projects. To ensure success as a photographic assistant, you should have a passion for photography. Be confident and be able to handle the small details of a shoot, allowing the senior photographer to capture the perfect shot.

Job Title: Photographer Assistant Intern

Responsibilities:

• Photography capabilities
• Booking gear and props
• Scouting potential photoshoot locations and venues.
• Setting up and packing up the studio for each shoot and work with stylists.
• Organizing, unpacking, and setting up camera and lighting equipment at external locations.
• Taking instructions from the Senior Photographer on shoots.
• Assisting with lighting and camera work.
• Distributing photos via online distribution portals for approval.

Minimum requirements:

• Diploma in photography or similar qualification.
• South African ID
• Previous practical exposure to a photographic assistant or similar role will be advantageous.
• Naturally creative with a good eye for colour and style.
• Knowledge and practical exposure of professional cameras and lighting equipment will be advantageous.
• Detailed knowledge of modern photography techniques.
• Ability to work after hours when needed.
• Good listening and communication skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and time management skills.
